The group service trip for the summer of 2018 is currently in the planning stage. Information regarding the trip will be released once details have been finalized. The location, date and organization are still TBD.
Interested students are encouraged to attend the service trip meeting on October 18th at 12pm-1pm in Evans Hall 327.
Highlight of the past service trip: During June 4th-10th 2017, PCOM GHI partnered with Sidney Kimmel Medical Students on a 7-day international service trip to Nicaragua. Thirteen PCOM (DO 2020 and BIOMED) students travelled with the non-profit organization Global Medical Brigades to provide medical assistance in rural communities of Nicaragua. The students worked with local and US physicians, pharmacists and dentists to provide 974 patients with medical care over a 3-day period. The students also provided public health education to children and adults in the communities that they served. In addition, they had 1 day of working on water projects, where they helped dig trenches that would provide clean drinking water to members of a rural community.
